Sharing worlds
There are two ways to share your Infinite Worlds adventure with others: sending a direct link and adding to Community Worlds.
When creating a direct link from your local copy of the world (in the "Your Worlds" list), the link is to the version of the world at the moment you create the link. Any updates you make will not show up in that older link, requiring you to share another link for others to get the latest version of your world.
Uploading your world to Community Worlds allows other users to search for and find them in the list of public worlds. Additionally, if you create a direct link from the Community Worlds list, that link will always point to the latest version available in Community Worlds. Any time you publish updates to Community Worlds, anyone using this version of the direct link will be linked to that updated version (See Updating Your World below).
Note: Before sharing, remember to check the "Indicate Mature Content" box in the Main Instructions section for your world if your world has mature or NSFW content.
Sharing a Direct Link[edit]
Sharing a direct link allows you to share your world with only a select person or group of people. Note that anyone who has the link can access your world and share that link with anyone else. Click the Share button next to your world's description:
When you click the share button you will be given a link that you can copy and paste into a forum or Discord group or wherever you want to share it.
Click on "Copy to Clipboard" and share a link to your world. Note: When someone clicks on this hyperlink, IW will attach a copy of that world to their account, which they can then play.
Adding to Community Worlds[edit]
The second way to share your world in Infinite Worlds is to share it with the community. This will add it to the list of searchable worlds on the front page and give you a permanent link to share (see above). To do this, find the button labeled "Add Community World" located at the bottom of the front page:
Once you click that button, a popup appears with a drop-down menu to pick one of your worlds. Select the world you want to share, click "Add World", and your world will appear on the community list:
Worlds played by other users, either from the share button or the community worlds page, can earn bonus credits. See the Infinite Worlds FAQ
Updating Your World[edit]
Once you share a world to the community, it acts as a copy of the world at the moment you shared it. You will need to update it for others to see any changes you make.
If you shared via link, you can simply repeat that process and send a new link. If you shared via Community Worlds, head to "Manage your community worlds" button either at the top of the "Your Worlds" section on the front page or next to the "Add community world" button you previously clicked.
In this new page, you will see a list of all the worlds you have added to Community Worlds. Find the game you want to update, and click "Update" on the right-hand side of the page. A popup will display for you to select what to replace the world with. The drop down list by default filters to worlds which match the current title, but you can replace it with any of your other worlds. Check the box "Show all worlds" to see a complete list.
Once you select a world, click "Done" and wait for the confirmation. Your world is automatically updated in the community list. No other action is required on your part.
Important: Updating the Community World will replace the copy with the new version, but shared links will always work.
