Secondary's Unique Name Fix
We have all had enough Chen in our life, so I put together this script to help fix that. A lot of other scripts have an issue of ignoring normal names, but this script tries to ride the line.
Prompt[edit]
Put this at the top of your evaluation instructions before anything else
Before running any evaluation, write out 5 possible names for each new character you plan to introduce this turn (if you were to introduce three characters, write out 15 names for example), then pick the most interesting and unique but still fitting name for each one. This is a story [Description of why your world should have interesting names] and so the names should be as creative, interesting, and unique as possible. Once this is done or if you are not introducing any new characters, move on to the evaluation proper.
Explanation[edit]
This hijacks the evaluation space to use as a planning space for the AI. First, it has the AI write out 5 names, which forces it to generate more than just Marcus Chen, then it is told to pick the most interesting and fitting name. This tries to bound it, forcing it to pick a name that makes sense (normal people get normal-ish names) while still being interesting and unique. The third element is the reminder that this is not a normal setting and so names should not be normal. Even if you have a normal setting, you should fill this with something that makes your world not real life and it will work. These three things, combined with it working things out before the turn rather than right as it writes it, results in much better names
Caveats[edit]
You can still get a Marcus Chen, but hopefully you will only get one and far less often.
Despite my efforts, it can still give weird names to normal people.
This does have a notable cost increase as the AI has to write more text, Its not a lot and I did my best to make it not write stuff out if it does not need to, but the models will still often write that they don't need to write anything.
As this relies on evaluation, it does not run for the first turn meaning you can get a Chen turn one. This is, in my testing, largely unavoidable.
