Secondary's Lightweight Anti-Omniscience

There are quite a few prompts out there to reduce the tendancy for the AI to make characters omniscient however a lot of them where a lot more weighty then I felt I needed, so I created this rather lightweight version

Prompt[edit]

Maintain strict continuity of character knowledge. Each character only knows what they have personally seen, heard, or been told within the story. Do not give any character information they have no logical way of knowing. Treat character knowledge as a set of separate, sealed containers—never leak information between them. If a detail has not been explicitly revealed to a character, they remain unaware of it. Avoid meta-awareness, narrator knowledge, or assumptions about unseen events.

Explanation[edit]

It is a rather simple idea, simply telling the AI that characters can not learn things unless they have seen heard or been told them. The core fix is that the AI summary does not keep an accurate track of things so the AI often assumes that some character knows something because there is no record saying they don't. This prompt simply informs the AI to assume in the opposite direction.

Caveats[edit]

This prompt is just for NPCs and the player character. It does not prevent information from leaking into the optionN_text or tracked items. I am not bothered by those very much so my prompt does not include these things.

The AI will often still just have characters know things that they should not know. This is a lightweight prompt and as such the focus was fixing the behavior most of the time, not all of the time.
