Other characters
Other Characters is where you define NPCs you want to always exist in the world. It allows you to flesh out the world instead of having it be randomly determined by the AI. You can have as many NPCs as you want. Simply click the "add character" button to create a new NPC entry. New NPCs' info will be blank and will need to be filled in.
You can also define your player character options here to ensure they, too, exist in the world. You can provide much more detail here than in the player character section, allowing you to make more fully-formed PCs in addition to NPCs. The AI will merge the two entries together coherently.
Creating an NPC[edit]
Name[edit]
This is the primary name of the NPC.
Brief Summary[edit]
A short summary of the character (helps the AI to keep track of all the different characters). To save on cost, this is the only information about the character visible to the AI until the turn after the character (or their location) is first mentioned. So, concisely include any key information about the character here. Example: "Alice is my best friend from high school; she is very chatty, has blonde hair and is always wearing a beret." If a character is really key to the story you may want to put a bit more in here, but always make sure to repeat anything important in the "Character detail" section below.
Character Detail[edit]
This is the main area where you write about the character.
Appearance[edit]
How the storytelling AI should imagine the character's appearance. The AI's seem to frequently ignore this.
Location[edit]
Where the character should be encountered for the first time.
Secret Information[edit]
Some information about the character which the player character doesn't know. It it useful for tertiary information. Feel free to leave blank, as it has less influence on the AI than the other sections.
Full List of Names[edit]
A comma-separated list of all the variants of a characters name. The AI will by default consider all unique variations of a name to be different characters. For example, "Dr. Sharon Stone" and "Dr. Stone" will be two separate characters. You can avoid this by listing both variations in this field. For example: "Dr. Sharon Stone, Dr. Stone, Sharon Stone, Sharon"
The AI is usually smart enough to know that "Dr" is equivalent to "Doctor", so those variations shouldn't be necessary.
Image AI[edit]
You can provide information for the pictures that will be generated of the character. The image AI is separate from the story AI, so without filling this in there may be a disconnect between what the image shows and what the story describes. Usually you can just copy and paste the "Appearance" field here.
