Current version: v3.9, last updated September 2026

What's new: First version shared on the wiki.

Made by Blake. This is a fan-made skill file. I'm a fan of Infinite Worlds and I made this myself. It isn't official and isn't made by the Infinite Worlds developer.

Infinite Worlds skill file for Claude (work in progress)[edit]

I've put together a skill file that teaches Claude how Infinite Worlds works, so it can help you build and tweak your worlds without having to explain the platform every time.

To be honest, I don't really know how to do a lot of the technical side myself. I get Claude to run everything and help me build it. This file is what I've made along the way to help it get things right. I've done the best I can, and I've been slowly updating it over time. I've made my own stories with it and it's been going pretty well. I truly hope it helps you too, because it's helped me a lot.

I made it for my own private stories. This shared copy has my name and my story names taken out and swapped for made-up examples, but otherwise it's the same as the one I use.

What it covers[edit]

Trackers (including YAML), keyword instruction blocks, triggers and their effects, other characters, main and extra instructions, author style, player characters and skills, victory and defeat, PawScript expressions and scripts, the JSON editor, images and illustrations, storyteller models, and common problems and fixes. It can help make pretty much everything for a story.

PawScript[edit]

PawScript is built into it too, but it may not always be correct. It's been decent for me, but PawScript is still quite new and there isn't much info around for it yet. I look through other people's stories for anything that helps it understand better, and I try to get things confirmed by actually testing them to make sure they work. But I don't use every feature, so not everything has been tested.

How it handles information[edit]

It keeps track of where each piece of info came from: the official PawScript and YAML guides, the community wiki, or things actually tested in real worlds. It tells you which is which. Untested ideas are kept separate and clearly marked, so Claude won't pass a guess off as fact.

How I use it[edit]

I use Claude Opus 5, but you don't have to use that model. I use it because my chats go very long. When I build a story I often don't know exactly what I'm building. I start with a rough idea and can spend hours working it out. At the end I always get Claude to run multiple checks on the work.

Claude gives you a JSON file of your whole world, which updates everything in one go. To put it in:

  1. Open your world's editing section and go to Misc Advanced Features, where the JSON editor is.
  2. Paste in the JSON Claude gave you.
  3. Click "Import JSON to world". "Save changes and exit" does not save JSON changes.

Tip: copy your world's current JSON somewhere safe first, so you have a backup.

Heads up: it's still a work in progress[edit]

  • It's not complete, and it may still have problems with bits and pieces.
  • It's still missing some features. Some trigger-related stuff and anything I haven't used myself may not be included yet.
  • Keeping it right has been a little hard because the wiki is slightly outdated and some things on it are incorrect. I've been checking and correcting those as I go, but I won't have caught everything.
  • Some parts come from the wiki or community findings and haven't been fully tested. Those parts are labelled.
  • The platform keeps changing, so some things may be out of date.

If Claude tells you something that seems off, test it in a copy of your world first.

Check on your world every so often[edit]

Every now and then, look at your trackers and anything else you've set up to make sure it's all still working. I still get the occasional problem, usually when I add new features and it takes some tweaking to get them working.

Download[edit]

Download here: https://github.com/blake99444/Claude-Skill-for-Infinite-Worlds/releases/tag/v3.9

You'll find two files there. Use the .skill file if you can — it's the recommended option and works automatically. The .txt file is there as an easy alternative if you'd rather paste it in.

How to install and use it[edit]

Option A — Skill file (recommended)

  1. Download the .skill file from the folder above (don't unzip or open it — leave it as is)
  2. In Claude, go to Settings, then Capabilities (or Customize), then find Skills
  3. Upload the file there and make sure it's toggled on
  4. At the start of a new chat, type /infinite-worlds to make sure the skill is active right away

Option B — Text file (paste it in)

  1. Download the .txt file from the folder above
  2. Open it in any text editor (Notepad, TextEdit, etc.)
  3. Select all the text and copy it
  4. Paste it into Claude — either at the start of a new conversation, or into a Project's custom instructions
  5. Claude will now understand Infinite Worlds for that conversation or project

Want to help?[edit]

The wiki itself is genuinely useful — it's how I learned to build before I had the skill. I have this set up to check it automatically every week, so most of what's there has usually already been picked up. But because I'm running everything through AI now, the exact wording matters a lot more than it used to — a slightly wrong name or outdated term can mean the AI builds it incorrectly. So if you've noticed something wrong, missing, out of date, or worded incorrectly — even something small — please let me know rather than assuming I've already seen it. Either use the Notes section below, or email me.

If you know the answer or the fix, please include that too — it's a huge help, especially if you've actually tested it yourself rather than just found it somewhere. I won't always have time to test everything myself, so if you can test it beforehand, that would be lovely — I'll add it into the skill and update it when I can.

Thank you for visiting this page — I hope the skill has been useful to you. Enjoy building!
